Dr. Howard Wasdin graduated with SEAL Class 143. After combat in Desert Storm he later became a top sniper with SEAL Team Six.
For his involvement in “Operation Gothic Serpent,” he was awarded the Silver Starfor gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States, and the Purple Heart, for injuries sustained in combat. In that conflict he was wounded three times and nearly lost a leg.
Howard served in the US Navy for twelve years. He was medically discharged due to the injuries sustained in Somalia. The Somalia conflict would later become more commonly known as Black Hawk Down.
Howard now lives in Georgia where he is a practicing Chiropractor. Given his military background, and personal childhood experiences, he is a leader in his community. He focuses his efforts on worthy causes that encourage and promote children and teen education and personal development. For his work and commitment, he was inducted into the Jeremiah Milbank’s Society of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, in 2012. As an Angel Flight Command Pilot, he volunteers to fly critical patients from their home airports to their medical appointments at no charge.
Howard is the author of “SEAL Team Six: Memoirs of an Elite Navy Seal Sniper”, a New York Times bestseller for 22 weeks. This success of which spawned an award winning “youth adapted” version. This book is prized for encouraging reluctant readers to read. His memoirs have achieved international acclaim with 16 languages currently in print.
Howard also travels the country as a motivational speaker, inspiring others to overcome adversity, work as a team, love one another, all while encouraging patriotism and a strengthened faith in God.
